First announced at Facebook's F8 developer conference in May 2018, the dating feature launched in the U.S. In September 2019, immediately sending shares in Match, which owns dating app Tinder. Facebook dating allows you to match with your Facebook friends and Instagram followers through the secret crush feature located at the bottom of the screen. If you add a profile to your secret crush list, and if they're using Facebook Dating, they'll be notified that someone has added them to a secret crush list without revealing your identity.

Facebook Dating suggests matches for you based on things like preferences in your dating profile, things you do and share on Facebook as well as things. The list of countries where Facebook Dating is available includes the US, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, Guyana, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Singapore, Suriname, Thailand, Uruguay, and Vietnam. Facebook said that it would launch its dating service in Europe in early 2020.

Starting today you don't have to rely on third party apps like Tinder for online dating because Facebook finally launched its service called Dating.

Starting with Facebook Dating is easy, because there's no need to set up a new account - you just use the one you already have, although you have the freedom to use a different one. You will be suggested people who already joined the program, and they will be showed to you as well - pretty much like how Tinder works. However, you don't have to wait to match - just go forward and send a message or tap the Like button.

Of course, with having the freedom to bug people comes the risk of abuse. That's why Facebook announced a list of features to make its online dating service a bit safer - you can share details of your date with friends like live location via Messenger.

Just like Tinder, Facebook Dating also has stories - you can import the ones you post on Facebook, and by the end of the year you can also add the ones from Instagram.

Since Facebook is already way too popular, there's a big chance your future partner is on your Friends or Followers list. The new app has this feature called Secret Crush which allows you to add people to a list and then they'll get a notification that they are someone's crush.
